Hello this is Maryellen. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the kind words thoughts and prayers. I feel very blessed to have people like you in my life. My family, my friends , co-workers, DJ's friends and parents. In my mind you are all my family and I don't know what I would have done without your support. Wether you came to visit, sent a card or just thought of us. As you already know Dj has been home about 3weeks now. Although he's home and I feel slightly relieved things are still very hetic, between Dr's appointments and the ups and downs during his healing from his internal injuries .He is also in a wheel chair for a least another month. That darn thing weighs more than I do(ha ha). Sorry it's taken me so long to actually even look at the web site. Our home life is completely turned up side down, everyday does get a little better and IM looking forward to returning to my normal life. I also wanted to let Terri, Glenda, Ann, Mary, Terry, Geoff, Tre, Patsy, Linda and Jane( any anybody else I have forgoten) know how much I appreciate you and everyone @ order processing and the districts.

DJ is Home!

DJ was able to go home on Tuesday. Hooray! There is alot of Physical Therapy work ahead of him, but we are all just glad that he is finally home.

Almost Out.

He is almost out of there. They are keeping their eye on a fever. But DJ is ready to get out of there and be on his way home. He is getting his voice back and looking much better. We are crossing our fingers, and hoping he will be able to come home today or tomorrow!

More steps in the right direction

Just wanted up give the latest update on DJ. Today he's sitting up more, and met with a physical therapist to help in his recovery to get him home quicker. Today he was eating a sub from MrSubb when we got there( I can't blame him, hospital food may be healthy, but it doesn't taste that good). He got out of bed today, and went for a stroll in a wheelchair. It was good to see him out and about. With each day he's getting a little better, and hopefully he'll be home soon. Peter and his mom brought him in a PSP and a few games to play to keep his mind off of being there in the hospital, and to raise his spirits. Now that he can get up we have told him about the website, so maybe in one of his trips out of his room he can check the blog.

A Step in the Right Direction!

Here is an update for everyone.
DJ has been taken off of the respirator and has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit. It is great...This is a step forward.
Healing will still be slow, and right now we are focused on keep DJ's spirits up.

There are Many day to day expenses that will be draining the family, going back and forth to the hospital, being out of work to be by DJ's side.

Accident.

By now everyone knows what happened to DJ. April 13th, he was hit by a car while walking down the side of the road. He is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where they are keeping him stable. This will be a long process of healing for DJ. We wanted to create this site to keep everyone up to date on his condition, and to maybe lower the amount of phone calls that MaryEllen is getting, because they are becoming overwhelming.

Please Feel Free to Leave comments of well wishes...We will be saving them for DJ and the Family to read.
